    Suzanne Braden has been working with her organization for the Giant Pandas in Wolong since 1999. In 2014/2015, when the Giant Pandas became infected with the distemper virus, Pandas International quickly provided a significant amount of vaccine to the local Chinese partner.

    Since 1987 he is interested in giant pandas. Jeroen is the founder of GiantPandaGlobal.com and patron of the eponymous award. For the fifth time he organizes the award ceremony for panda protection work in China and abroad. Panda experts and fans from around the world can vote on their website for their favorite pandas, people and institutions. The site contains historical facts, visitor information and panda news.   • Prof. Zhang Hemin, “Panda Dad” for Lifetime Achievement, (China)
    He is known as the daddy of the Giant Pandas and since 2001 head of the Wolong Nature Reserve Administration. He studied biology at the University of Sichuan in 1983, when the Giant Pandas faced a food crisis. The bamboo flourished in many areas and died. Dr. Zhang immediately took care of the problem, set off for Wolong and started to rescue hungry Giant Pandas. At that time, there were only 10 Giant Pandas in the area. Dr. Today, Zhang Hemin is one of the key people to carry out the program to reintroduce the Giant Pandas into the wild in China.
